Ubrikkia Campaign Overview

Overview

The Ubrikkia Campaign follows the adventures of the crew of a merchant/smuggling freighter as they attempt to locate a missing person.

Setting

The Ubrikkia Campaign is set in the year 45 BBY, during the time of the Republic, 13 years before the events of Episode I: A Phantom Menace. The campaign begins on the planet Ubrikkia, an industrial planet located in the Mid Rim near Hutt Space, and progresses through other locations throughout the galaxy. Locations used in the campaign will likely be a mix of canon and GM-original planets.

Party Backstory

The player characters in the Ubrikkia Campaign all take on the role of crew members of a small freighter engaged in merchant and smuggling operations. Though the campaign takes place during an era of peace at the height of the old Republic, the party often operates far enough from the galactic core that they are used to relative lawlessness and have likely seen a decent amount of combat.

The party is affiliated with Lorenzo the Hutt, an entrepreneur and minor crime lord on Ubrikkia. The player characters are thus used to periodically taking on smuggling assignments and other odd jobs for Lorenzo's organization.

Campaign Backstory

Nuna Simone, Lorenzo the Hutt's consigliera, has gone missing. Apart from any sentimental considerations (ha.. ha..) Lorenzo is concerned that if Nuna has fallen into the wrong hands (or worse, defected) then her extensive knowledge of his criminal activities could spell disaster for his organization.

Rather than hire professional detectives or put out a bounty, which could attract unwanted attention from both Republic law enforcement and from rival organizations (in particular the Black Sun crime syndicate), Lorenzo would prefer if Nuna could be located and returned quietly. To that end, he has commissioned the crew of a small tramp freighter to head for Nuna's last known location and hopefully either find her, or, failing that, find out what happened to her.

For this campaign, I will be pretty meticulously keeping track of things like docking fees, fuel use, and other routine expenses. Thus, in addition to trying to find Nuna, the party will need to engage in normal commercial freight activities (and/or other money-making ventures) along the way in order to stay afloat (and hopefully even make a profit).
