[ These house rules were written for a previous campaign. Current house rules can be found here ]
This homebrew d20 system follows Star Wars Saga Edition rules except as follows:
Character Creation:
Player characters are restricted to only playing the Noble, Scoundrel, Scout, and Soldier classes, and cannot train in or use the Use the Force skill.
Character creation can include the Tech Specialist supplement (the talent tree, not the class).
Players begin at level 3. Multiclassing is allowed, but only after level 3.
Leveling Up:
Leveling up adds Level/2 to skill modifiers, but only for class skills.
Leveling up does not increase defenses.
Leveling up always grants one feat. Feats do not ever have to be selected from class-specific bonus feats.
Skills:
The Climb, Jump, and Swim skills are replaced by a single skill, Athletics.
The seven Knowledge skills are replaced with the following:
Knowledge: Galactic Lore
Knowledge: Biology and Social Science
Knowledge: Technology and Physical Science
Game Mechanics:
An attribute check, for example a pure INT or pure STR check, adds double the attribute modifier to the check.
Moving diagonally has a cost of 2 for the first diagonal square moved into in that round, 1 for the second diagonal square moved into, 2 for the third, 1 for the fourth, etc.
Characters automatically have the ability to grapple; grapple mechanics are treated as in D&D 3.5e.
The Force:
Characters only interact with the force through Force Points.
Characters are only given 2 FP every level, however, this amount can be increased with the following modified feats:
Force Sensitivity: Gain 4 additional FP every level
Force Boon (requires Force Sensitivity): Gain 3 additional FP every level
Starship Mechanics:
An optional expansion of starship flight mechanics is given, with simultaneous movement on a hex grid for more tactics-oriented encounters (see Starship Combat document).
Rules for buying and maintaining starships are also slightly adjusted (see Buying and Maintaining Starships document).
Repairing or modifying starships, droids, or other equipment usually costs some amount of spare parts, in addition to costing time and Mechanics checks (see Buying and Maintaining Starships document, and Upgrades section of Medical Treatment document).
Game Statistics Adjustments:
Minor adjustments have been made to various game statistics, such as the costs of some equipment, in an effort to better balance the stats given in the many different SWSE supplement books.
Wherever possible, statistical information from all SWSE sources has been gathered by topic into spreadsheets.
